Jody

Jody began painting in 1988 at the now infamous Barton Hill Youth Club in Bristol developing a strong black and white figurative style. After not painting for 18 years Jody was interviewed for Felix Braun's 'Children of the Can - 25 years of Bristol Graffiti' book and was tricked out of his retirement and is back specialising in freehand photorealistic pieces in spray paint again.

He has exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy, View Gallery and had 2 sell out solo shows at the Weapon of Choice Gallery in the last 2 years. Although not officially 'Graffiti' in the strict and traditional sense of the word he considers himself more an aerosol artist.

Jody hopes that his work crosses age and cultural barriers to dispel the myth that Graffiti is an exclusive art form that people can’t fathom or work out, taking inspiration from film, music and TV he seeks the darker of life in his work.
